"Going Wide" refers to strategy of playing a high number of, usually, small creatures in order to overwhelm your opponent's blockers. Instant speed buffs can then be applied to unblocked creatures to deal damage, often killing the opponent outright
in a single combat phase.
And you thought Minions were annoying.
