Allowed for Congress to levy an income tax among the states—The 16th amendment was proposed because the government needed more money, and where better to take it from than the american people—It was ratified on February 3, 1913—Income taxes were inputted into society{line}This amendment, although it isn’t ideal for the american worker, is necessary for funding and therefore shouldn’t be changed.
