A Brook
Brooks keep appearing throughout the book. This
brook represents Anne's transformation. The
brook is described as "intricate" and "headlong"
and by the time it get's to Mrs. Lynde's property,
it is very calm and tamed. Just like when Anne got
to Avonlea, she was a mess. But by the end of the
book, she is calmer and more independent.
" 'Don't you feel as if you just loved the world on a
morning like this? And I can hear the brook laughing
