Addition Reaction
Occurs when atoms are added to double or triple
bonds. 2 new bonds are formed from the
breaking of 1 bond in the multiple bond.
Reactant is unsaturated forming a saturated
product.
*2 reactants form 1 product (usually)*
More atoms are bonded to C in product
than in reactant.
Common for alkenes & alkynes but
can also take place at the C= O bond.
*Reverse of an elimination reaction*
