Arachne

Arachne was a young girl in Greece. All day she would sit in the sun and spin flax, wool, and silk on her loom. At night, Arachne would go into the shade and weave. One afternoon, a passerby asked her who taught her to weave so well. She responded no one did. The passerby then said Athena, the goddess of craft and wisdom, may have and she didn’t know. Athena then heard about what happened and challenged the girl to a contest. When the contest came around, Zeus sat high in the clouds ready to judge. At
