Bard the Bowman

Bard the Bowman, also known as Bard the First,
was the one who released the arrow that killed the dragon Smaug, which ended his reign over the mountain and stopped him from destroying
Lake-Town. He then took some men and fought in
the Battle of the Five Armies.
"The black arrow sped straight from the string, straight for the hollow by the left breast where the foreleg was flung wide. In it smote and vanished,
barb, shaft and feather, so fierce was its flight."
