Beauveria bassiana
Rapid DNA mutations
Beauveria is a fungal entomopathogen that infects
a wide range of insect hosts including silk worms.
B. bassiana infects by direct penetration of
the insect cuticle; conidia attach to the host
cuticle through forces followed by germination
and penetration of cuticular layers with the aid of hydrolytic
enzymes among other factors.
