Established a library, fire department and police department in his community
Proved lightning was electricity
Attended Second Continental Congress
Served on the Declaration of Indep. Committee
Signed the Declaration of Independence
Traveled to France to gain their assistance and an alliance in fighting Great Britain
In 1783 he helped negotiate the Treaty of Paris
