Barthanie Schilling was born in Branch, LA, the
eldest in a family of 9 - her baby sister Rebecca is
also in our family tree. Around 1856, Barthanie
married Thomas of Mississippi, and they had 3
children: Alzada, Lorenzo and Artemisa. Thomas
died around 1862, and she remarried, raising 3
more kids. She passed away in 1917, in Louisiana.
