Blackbeard

born about 1680 in England
died 1718 in North Carolina
Very little is known about this pirate. He may
have served on ships during Queen Anne's War.
He was a calculating leader who didn't like the
use of force, relying instead on his fearsome
image to get what he desired from those whom
he robbed.
