"Canyons are formed from glacial, water and wind erosion and the temperature and climate difference between the top of the canyon and the buttom can be quite extreme. Generally animals will ambush prey in canyons especially with a river valley flowing through it or they glide from mesa to mesa searching for food and a place to nest."
