After the publication of an image of Queen Victoria celebrating Christmas around a Christmas tree, the use of Christmas trees became popular in Britain. Soon after, the popularity of the Christmas tree spread to America. Since then, Western influence and consumerism have turned the Chrismas
tree into a universal symbol that is used nearly worldwide.
