Here lies the resting place of Cocoon, the old over- -world, where fal'Cie had once lived to serve humans, but had also dreamt of severing their bindings. The crystal pillar holds up the planet in the air, and is the effect of the l'Cie completing their focus; what was destroying Orphan, and putting an end to their scheme once and for all.
