Comox Harbour

Comox harbour better know by indigenous
K'omoks nation as "land of plenty", was a travel
stop for many well known ships such as the
"Beaver" and other European travellers which
arrived centuries after the Comoks had settled.
The Europeans found it for the first time when
capt. Vancouver with the "Discovery" went
through the inside passage and met two Spanish
capt.'s Galiano and Valdes near Comox. Governor
James Douglas visits the Comox area on the
"Beaver" and sees the lands potential.
