In this phase, the cell membrane pinches in around the middle until the cell is pinched in half and there are 2 cells. Each cell has about the same number of organelles, 1 nucleus, 2 centrioles, and exactly the same DNA. In plants the cell wall can’t pinch, a cell plate forms between the 2 cells.
