Whenever a creature dealt damage by Dauntless Carrier dies sacrifice Dauntless Carrier, if you do put a black, red and green 1/1 insect sand creature token onto the battlefield under your control.
Although the scorpions were eaten by the other bugs, their plague didn't die with them, they were merely a way to spread it on, and the bugs who ate them became their vessels.
