Declaration of Independence

Thomas Jefferson was selected to write the declaration. The Declaration of Independence has four sections: 1) Preamble which states that people who wish to form a new country should explain their reasons for doing so. 2) List of the rights the colonists believed they should have. 3) Complaints against Britain. 4) The final section proclaims the existence of the new nation.
