When Devout Love enters the battlefield, choose two creatures you control. Put X devotion counters on Devout Love.
As long as both chosen creatures remain on the battlefield, they each get +X/+X.

As long as Devout Love has a devotion counter on it, if one of the chosen creatures would be dealt combat damage, prevent that damage and remove a devotion counter from Devout Love instead.
