DM's Dangerous Wager

Assign each player and permanent a whole number between 1 and 20. Then, for each player and permanent, roll a d20 (a twenty-sided die). For each permanent, if the assigned number wasn't rolled, it's controller sacrifices it. For each player, if the assigned number wasn't rolled, that player loses half their life total, rounded down.
