East Kent Regiment
Formed in 1572, this famous infantry regiment served England for
over four hundred years. Nicknamed "The Buffs", they were on the
front lines in wars such as the Napoleonic Wars, the French
Revolutionary Wars, as well as the First and Second World Wars. The
regiment has earned 116 military wars, and was eventually disbanded
in 1961. It's battalions were deployed mainly on the western front,
but also in the Middle East and Italy towards the end of the
war.
