Erwin Chargaff

Erwin Chargaff is an American biochemist born in
1905 in Ukraine and died in 2002 in New York.
Erwin Chargaff discovered that the ratios of adenine (A) to thymine (T) and guanine (G) to cytosine (C)
are equal.
•Not-so Fun Fact: Charagaff resigned from the University of Berlin in 1933 when the Nazi regime excluded Jews from teaching positions.
