Excavate

Before the battle, if this unit is set up
underground, it can excavate. If it does so,
in the resolve Pre-battle abilities step of the
mission sequence, select one terrain
feature on the battlefield (you cannot select fortifications). That terrain feature
loses the defensible, heavy cover, light cover
and inspiring traits and gains the difficult
ground trait.
