Fort Saskatchewan

Located along the Saskatchewan River, the NWMP fort of Fort Saskatchewan guarded the rich trading post of Fort Edmonton and the village of St. Albert - then Alberta's largest settlement. However, its geographic isolation meant it could not properly protect the settlers to the west, or get help from them if danger came.
