Planeswalkers may be equipped as if they
were creatures. After all, they are an ally
fighting beside you who can pick up a
sword (glare at Gideon) or wear a crown.
Unless they also become a creature (Gideon
often did)power/toughness changes, many
keywords, and combat abilities don't apply.
