Ida B. Wells

Ida B. Wells was born a slave. She was educated, a teacher, and a (newspaper) writer. She was critical of segregated schools and an anti-lynching crusader devoting her life to it after seeing her friend lynched. She is very outspoken but does managed to raise the issue. She also supports women's suffrage. She also joins NAACP but leaves because the change is not immediate enough for her.
