John D. Rockefeller

Rockefeller's Standard Oil Company was the first
large business trust of America. His innovations in
the oil market drastically reduced the price of
refining oil. His company's near monopoly on the growing market of oil left him as the richest man
in U.S history when accounting for inflation.
In his later years in life he set up various
charitable foundations.
