Joseph Stalin was born in 1878. In 1922, he was appointed to the newly created office of general secretary of the communist party. This gave him a chance to grow his power. After Lenin died in 1924,
Stalin grew a plan to take total control. He eventually took control and started a large reign of terror. This terror was especially prevalent throughoht World War II. He eventually died from a stroke on March 11,
