This is when Old Dan dies from injuries from the mountain lion battle, after he dies Little Ann has since lost the will to live and also dies.
"Old Dan's death was too much for Little Ann, she refused to eat, drink, and hunt and lost her will to live. With her last amount of strength she dragged her body to lie next to Old Dan's grave."
