King George the III was the first king of Great Britain
and Ireland in 1760. He influenced many of the acts
passed onto the colonies, and was responsible for an
abdication speech after the defeat of his army in
Yorktown 1781. He often went into periodic fits
of insanity, until his son replaced him on the
War of 1812.
