Lorenzo Dow Ballard was born in Tangipahoa,
LA. Some people believe his first wife was Callie
R., but it is more likely that his only wife was
Susan. The family did not own land; they lived
and worked on a farm, and Lorenzo took work
as a rail road laborer. He passed away in Mount
Hermon, Louisiana, in 1926, at the age of 66.
