Madison County
Being the third most populous county in
Alabama, the seat of governance in Madison
County is the city of Huntsville. In the early
1800's, the economy revolved mainly around
agriculture. Madison County was one of the
largest cotton-producing counties in the state,
and textile mills operated around the county.
During the space-race in the 1950's, German
Rocket scientists began work on the Redstone
Rocket, creating thousands of jobs in Huntsville
until modern day.
