Ancestor led the rebellion which overthrew the oppressive Roman monarchy. Best known as being
one of the leaders of the plot to assassinate Caesar. Likes Caesar but dislikes his growing ambition and fears the return of oppressive authority.
Swears his loyalty to Rome and explains his honorable reasons for killing Caesar as he declares he "loved Caesar, but. . . loved Rome more."
