Marsh periwinkle

The periwinkle snail feeds on fungi. It creates wounds on saltwater cordgrass, which are then infected by fungi. Periwinkles also deposits feces on the wounds that they create, which encourage the growth of the fungi.
Beautiful and disgusting.
