At the beginning of your upkeep, exile X forests you control and put X times two root counters onto Nidhogg, Entangled. If X is zero Nidhogg gains Defender until your next turn.
Remove a root counter from NIdhogg: Regenerate Nidhogg.
Remove two root counters from Nidhogg; Nidhogg gains +1/+1 and your choice of flying, trample or first strike until end of turn.
Remove five root counters from Nidhogg: Gain control of two target basic lands.
