Oboe d'Amore
The oboe d'amore is a double reed woodwind
instrument in the oboe family.
Slightly larger than the oboe, it has a less
assertive and a more tranquil and serene tone,
and uses a bocal similar to but shorter than that
of the cor anglais.
Johann Sebastian Bach wrote for the instrument
in many pieces, including a concerto, and many
of his cantatas.
