The KPD gets involved in street fights with the Nazi's after the 1933 elections. Hitler recognizes that he needs to put an end to the chaos, it disrupts other Nazi agendas. After the Reichstag fire, the KPD and other political parties are banned. Between 1939 and 1941 the KPD resurfaces when Germany attacks the Soviet Union after a non-aggression pact was established.
