Practice of Lysenkoism
China // 1958 - 1962 {g/u}
A result of Mao's lack of faith in peasants. Lysenkoism is a
technique for growing super crops such as rice and wheat. The
eradication of pests was a form of Lysenkoism. Peasants were
rewarded for targetting sparrows which led to a massive increase in
insects that destroy grain crops. Lysenkoism was one of the factors
in the Great Famine.
