When Protective Illusion enters the battlefield, tap one creature an opponent controls. That creature doesn't untap as long as you control Protective Illusion.
The figure was a fleeting illusion, that of a wishful princess with no one by her side. The maiden merely wished for a knight to protect her, and could only muster this holy facade.
