Pseudomonas entomophila
Rapid DNA mutations
Pseudomonas entomophila infects Drosophila and
other flies. It is related to Pseudomonas putida, a saprophytic
soil bacterium.
Several pathogenic factors have been implicated in its
pathogenicity,
including the production of lipolytic and proteolytic enzymes,
putative toxins, secondary metabolites, and cyanide.
