Born in Killycairn, Ireland, Robert Acheson
immigrated to Canada at 35 years old, moving to
Galt, ON to become the minister of the United
Presbyterian church. He married Selina there,
and served in the church for over 35 years. In the
spring of 1894, he broke his leg, taking a fall onto
ice. He would pass away 2 weeks later, at 71.
