Rules and Control

The theme of rules and control show up in this book a lot. An example of this is whenever someone does something wrong they are released from the community. In the very beginning of the book, Jonas says how he remembers a time where a plane flew over The Community and the pilot was released (killed) because of the simple mistake. Also, when twins are born only one can be emitted into society.
