Runes of Demise

Enchant player
Creatures enchanted player controls get -1/-1.
At the beginning of enchanted player's upkeep,
that player loses 1 life for each copy of Runes of
Demise attached to them.
Runes are supposed to imbue power, though I suppose
you could say these do, in a sense.
