Secession is when a smaller group from a larger entity
withdrawals, especially in political context. It can,
however, happen for any form of organization or
alliance. Threats of secession can be used as strategies
for achieving more limited goals. An example of
succession can be seen as the Confederate States of
America, who broke away from the rest of the
United States in order to fight in favor of slavery.
