Stamp Act of 1765

Imposes a direct tax on printed materials,
requiring them to bear an official mark
(or "stamp"). Aggravates already livid
colonists; boycotts, protests, and riots result;
tax collectors assaulted. "Taxation without
representation!" becomes new rebel rallying
cry — may be played only if you have
sufficient means of enforcement in place.{b}
