Sybil Ludington
When the patriot troops needed another rider due to the original
being to tired, Ludington steeped up the the plate and rhode 20-40
miles at the age of 16. She rode her horse warning and rallying the
patriot soldiers of the British. Age of 23 she married, both
husband and son died. Ludington later soon died at age 77 of
poverty. There is a statue by lake Gleneida
in Carmel, New York for Ludington.
