The Battle of Palmito Ranch was the last
battle of the Civil War. Less than 30
people were killed, and compared to the
Battle of Gettysburg, that's a very small
number. John J. Williams, a soldier in
the Private rank that fought in this
battle, was the last one killed in the
entire Civil War.
