The Farmers
The 3 farmers: Boggis, Bunce, and Bean are symbols for humanity and human nature being so cruel to animals. Roald Dahl shows the farmers as greedy and shows the animals as intelligent and mural.
They were also nasty men. All three of them were about as nasty and mean as any men you could meet.
