As long as you control less than five Hero creatures, The First Star isn't a creature.

Whenever a Hero creature enters the battlefield under your control, put your choice of a +1/+1, first strike, flying, haste, or menace counter
on it. If you control a creature that mentions it as a Partner, you can choose two counters instead.
