The Quartering Acts (1774-75)

Permits Royal Governors to unilaterally
use "uninhabited houses, outhouses, barns,
or other buildings" to house British soldiers.
Provokes resentment and fear since the
presence of armed forces amidst civilians
is seen as a threat to liberty — use only
if you have sufficient troop strength in
North America.
