The Shift

Shifts were first developed by [Redacted].
They eventually passed the technology on
to various groups in the outside universe.

The Shift theoretically only exists as a series
of memetic connections. For example, a Shift
could implant itself in any recorded message
or piece of written text. As a result, many
factions attempted to use Shifts as a form
of sentient propaganda or guardian.
